The gap personnel group are acting as an Employment Business.

We are recruiting immediately for an established privately owned sheet metal fabrication company specialising in the bespoke manufacture of Control Cabinets, Control Desks, VDU Consoles, Offshore Control Cabinets, Reservoirs Support Frames and Brackets, Motor Control Centres and Various Sheet Metal Compoments.

Our client has a full order book achieved through quality manufacture, bespoke service and long standing clients. As such they are looking for a MIG/TIG welder to join their team.

Suitable candidates will have a good background in both MIG and TIG welding and preferably have the following;

- The ability to fettel, clean up and polish own work to an excellent standard.

- A background in MIG/TIG welding with Synergic machines.

- Ability to work on stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium.

- Ability to fabricate. - Able to read engineering drawings and communicate effectively.

- Experience of Press brake a bonus but not essential.

Working Hours.

Hours will be 7am to 4.30pm, with half day on a Friday. Overtime available as per the clients requirements on Friday afternoon and Saturday


This is a temporary to permanent position and is designed for the successful candidate to achieve a full time permanent position. Pay starts at £11.50 per hour and rises to £12 per hour after 12 weeks. Overtime and Saturdays will be paid at time and a half and Sundays and Bank holidays at double time. Basic hours will be 40 hours per week.

All candidates will have to undergo a weld test comprising of a butt weld and corner weld. Typical gauge would be 3mm to 5mm.
