gap Personnel are recruiting for an LGV Technician for our client, to be based at a site near Weston Super Mare, North Somerset. The LGV Technician will report to the Shift Lead, and will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a fleet of commercial vehicles. These will be vehicles or various makes, models and types. (Car derived vans up to 44 tonne units) Main Duties: • Maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles and equipment to current legislation, health and safety, and DVSA standards • Repair and maintenance of Hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems • Fault diagnosis and rectification of defects • Carry out Schedule inspections and services to ensure compliance with the businesses operator licenses and DVSA regulations. • Complete all necessary documentation associated with service, repair and maintenance • Responsibility for housekeeping across the service centre and workshop Essential Skills and Experience: • Apprentice trained through a recognised motor vehicle industry scheme • Technician status (IRTEC exam) • Previous experience of maintaining commercial vehicles and equipment • Previous experience of maintaining/repairing electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems • Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills • Ability to work in a physically demanding and challenging environment • Class 2 LGV Licence (desirable) On offer: • Competitive salary, depending on experience • Excellent Training and development • Generous benefits package, which includes a Pension Scheme, life Insurance, childcare vouchers, and discounts on major retail outlets • Flexible work patterns • 29 days holiday (inc. bank holidays)
