The gap personnel group are acting as an Employment Agency.

• Work with the Supervisory team to identify ways of motivating the team, ensuring praise and recognition is delivered where due • To monitor, coach and provide feedback to Warehouse Operatives on performance and KPIs ensuring productivity is high and targets are met • Monitoring KPI results of individuals and feedback to all on a daily basis • Providing coaching, support and mentoring to improve staff performance • Responsible for staff training in their area to include: - I. Job training II. Health & Safety III. Assisting in the implementation of Company policies and procedures • Involvement in the recruitment and selection of new staff, including participation in the interview process where appropriate • In conjunction with the Supervisor, conduct monthly reviews with new staff during the probationary period • Be responsible for reactive decision making on the shop floor and communicate these to the team and Supervisors / Managers • Ensure that the staff are organised in their daily tasks and targets and delegate duties accordingly • Maintain high visibility on the shop floor on a daily basis and actively engage with staff • Prepare and effectively complete PDRs for all Warehouse Operatives • Take an active role in identifying talent, communicating training needs and developing the team • Deal with staff conflict as and when required, diffusing the situation and reporting it to Supervisors/Managers • Take an active role in monitoring the whole warehouse, not just the immediate department relevant to the role – report and act on misconduct, poor performance regardless of the team • Take a consistent approach to logging staff issues and communicate these to the management team in a timely manner • Assist in the absence management of the team, including participation in return to work meetings alongside the Manager/Supervisor • In conjunction with the Supervisor, conduct disciplinary hearings at stage 1, verbal warning level under the Company Disciplinary Procedure • Update and maintain staff registers (hard copy) • Liaise with other Team Leaders and Supervisors and cover other departments as required • Cover operative functions as required • Ensure the warehouse operates in an appropriate manner to include: - I. that it is kept clean II. responsible for the Health and safety of their team and area III. in a secure manner with regards to access to buildings for visitors, contractors and staff • Conduct departmental checks before and after the shift with sufficient hand over if necessary • Attend internal and external meetings to represent the department and/or Company • Attend training courses as required and ensure that professional qualifications (where relevant) are kept up to date • Work safely at all times with due regard for yourself, visitors, contractors and work colleagues. Comply with the Company Health and Safety policy and procedures • Any other duties as required to meet the business needs of the department Knowledge & Skills Essential • A confidential, professional manner • A flexible approach • Good communication skills • Strong work ethic and an eagerness to lead by example • Excellent organisational skills • Excellent attention to detail • Self motivated • Strong team player • A friendly, fair and consistent approach Desirable • Experience within a warehouse environment • Basic knowledge of WMS or Mailbrain • Previous experience of leading a team 5 out of 7 afternoons, 1 in 3 weekends off, 1.45pm - 10.15pm 25% uplift for weekend hours
